Payless closing all 2,100 stores; Catholic Charities joins housing initiative; Meth is making a resurgence in MO

Payless Shoesource said Feb. 15 that it will close all 2,100 of its retail stores in the United States.

Payless has more than 40 locations in Missouri — 22 locations in the St. Louis area; 14 in the Kansas City area; three in Springfield; two in Cape Girardeau; two in Joplin; two in Columbia; and one each in Farmington, Jefferson City, Rolla, Sedalia, Warrensburg and Washington. (Note: Some St. Louis- and Kansas City-area stores are in Illinois or Kansas, respectively.)
